I recently had an older Dell laptop die on me. It kept going to the blue-error screen. I just bought a new HP laptop, and would like to get some of my files off the old laptop. Is there any way to hook the new laptop to the old one, and remote in and transfer the files?

You can get a device to connect the old hard drive up to your USB connection - that is probably the easiest way.

If you cant keep the old one stable, reinstall windows WITHOUT formatting from your CD. All your files will be there. From this point, hook both up to a router or switch and enable file sharing on your old computer. Then just copy and paste.
