Come on dude, be for real. They actually only beat one top 25 team in Oklahoma. Hawaii and Oregon St. were not ranked at the time and do not count as wins over top 25 opponents.
I really like Boise St. but I think they should only deserve a shot in a playoff system. Since we don't have one, we have to go with Florida as #1. It's unfortunate for Boise St., but that's the way it is. Imagine how Auburn felt a few years ago when they came undefeated out of the SEC.

Look at this schedule. Are you kidding me!! They did not play one team in the top 40!!
My kid brother's elementary school had a harder schedule.
Aug 31 Sacramento State W 45-0
Sep 7 Oregon State W 42-14
Sep 16 at Wyoming W 17-10
Sep 23 Hawaii W 41-34
Sep 30 at Utah W 36-3
Oct 7 Louisiana Tech W 55-14
Oct 15 at New Mexico State W 40-28
Oct 21 at Idaho W 42-26
Nov 1 Fresno State W 45-21
Nov 11 at San Jose State W 23-20
Nov 18 Utah State W 49-10
Sat Nov 25 at Nevada W 38-7
And for the record Oklahoma beat themselves by throwing 3 picks. And had it not been for two 4th down miracle plays by Boise St. we would not be having this conversation.

I have to agree with the other guys here. Strength of schedule has to count for something. When your toughest game in the fall is Oregon St., you've got an easy schedule.
I was listening to the radio this morning and one of the players from Boise St. said something to the effect that he wished they could have had a shot, but watching the game last night he realized that the best team won.

Because they aren't in the Big Ten...you have to be in the Big Ten to get into the championship, the more appropriate question is why was a spot in the championship game wasted on an obviously far inferior team such as Ohio State. but when you win out in the Big Ten, that automatically means you are the best team in the country...

Your right, after a brutal regular season schedule consisting of San Jose State, LA Tech, Fresno ST etc, they should be National Champs. HA HA HA Boise St should be thrilled to be #5 and shut the hell up, until the play a half-decent schedule.

There were no legit teams on their schedule, I man the toughest teams on there were Utah, Hawaii, Wyoming , and Oregon state. Those are exactly a tough schedule. It is totally ridiculous to think they should be a national champ. I mean there are at least 10 -15 teams more deserving. In fact half of the Sec could have been chosen over them. The would have had a losing record in the SEC and even in the Big East, they probably would have been 5-5. I mean they certainly would have lost to Louisville, West Virginia, Rutgers, and probably Pitt and south florida.

Try beating some top 10 teams like florida did, then talk. Wait, try scheduling some top 10 teams then talk.
They got a chance to prove themselves, if you dont schedule tough opponents, dont expect to be in the championship picture....coaches schedule the games ya know!
Any team can go undefeated if they schedule garbage teams....now what happens when 10 teams are undefeated b/c they decided to play all D-1AA schools? Now we have contraversy you dumb f*ck!

Well, they have a legitimate argument- they beat Oregon State who beat USC, who dismantled Michigan, who nearly beat Ohio State, who was crushed by Florida.
They're the only undefeated team in the country, and no one can take that away from them.

I completely agree.
I do not care what some computer says when they did not even get the chance to prove themselves.
In my mind they are the National Champions as they are the only undefeated team in the nation.
