OK. The slope-intercept form of a linear equation is:

y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept of the line.

You know that your line passes through the point 2, -2 and that the slope is 1, so the only thing you don't know is b, the y-intercept.

Put the point into the equation for x and y, and you have:

-2 = 1(2) +b, so you can solve the equation for b
b=-4

So, your equation is:

y = 1x -4

Hope this helps.

*The slope-intercept form is y = mx + b in which, "m" represents the slope and "b" represents the y-intercept.

First: replace -1 with "b" and place the point in the slope-intercept formula >

- 2 = 2(-1) + b
- 2 = -2 + b

Sec: add 2 to both sides (opposite side means opposite sign) >

- 2 + 2 = -2 + 2 + b
0 = b; b = 0

Third: place -1 and 0 in the slope-intercept formula, -1 is "m" and 0 is "b" >

y = -1x + 0
y = - x

slope intercept form is y= mx + b
they give you m they also give you a point (x=2, y=-2).
plug all that in:
-2 = (-1)(2) + b
solve for b
b = 0
your equation is
y = -x + 0

ill try.

if you plot the points which could help you think of how to make and equasion you plot 2, -2. then with the slope of one you have to make a fraction and put it over one. so now you take that slope and from the 2,-2 point, you got up one over one up one over one, vise vers for down one over one. its positive so your line should go to the right. once you graph it then try to make an equaion out of it

slope= y2-y1 /x2 -x1

-1 = y/ x
y= - x
Point A(0,2) and point B(0,-2) and the equation is
y = -( 2) = -2
