Donate it to you local charities like Goodwill, Salvation Army or homeless shelters. Not only are you helping those less fortunate than you, but it can also be written off on your taxes.

Call the Vietnam Veterans Association to see if they make pickups in your area. If they do, all you have to do is leave the clothing, furniture, household items, etc. outside in a box/bag the day of the scheduled pickup. Label the boxes/bags"VVA" and they pick the stuff up. You don't have to be home when they pick up. They also leave you a receipt for tax purposes.

Goodwill Industry, most thrift stores will take anything they can get..
In my midsize midwestern city we have several non-profit thrift groups that pickup and have store fronts.
Disabled American Veterans have outlets in many communities. Goodwill Industries, Salvation Army, to name a few.
