could be the sound drivers, are you sure your speakers work, eg if u connec them to a eg mp3 player, cd player etc..
to check the drivers right click on my computer choose properties, hardware, device manager, and if there is anything that say audio with a yellow (!) or red (x) then they will need to be reinstalled.

You might want to make sure that your sound card is seated into the motherboard. it may have popped loose cause the sound to quit. try plugging something into the computer like an mp3 player and plug the speakers into that to make sure its not the speakers. if you still dont get any sound call circuit city for their technician help.

un-install the sound card and then go to add and remove in control panel and remove any software for your sound and then reboot have the CD ready so when it finds the new hardware re-install the software & drivers from the disk as soon as you're done and windows loads do a restart and sound should be back.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
