Could be any number of concerns, ranging from appendix (though that pain is typically on the lower right) to gall bladder disease (also typically on the right under the rib cage area) to an ectopic pregnancy (which can be on the left or right side) or a ruptured ovarian cyst (either side). She could also have an infection of some sort. She should see her doctor to rule out anything serious and discuss any other symptoms she may be having (bleeding, fever, etc.) and obtain proper treatment.

Could be anything, it depends on where the pain is, when it started, and how long she has had it. It could be just from an over worked muscle. If she can jump up and down and not increase the pain, it isn't her appendix.

Go to the docs.
They will send you for testing.
It may be a rumbling appendix.
It may be a kidney infection.
However, as someone who has had sharp, shooting pains in my side for 25 years, i can tell you... they wont find anything wrong and nothing will be done about it unless you have expensive, private medical insurance.

the toddler is amazingly great through now and is laying on countless nurves and rigidity factors. possibly the toddler is basically in an elementary position? Does the discomfort bypass away? If that's persistant and under no circumstances going away call your dr.
