What's a good introduction for my essay that is about Poverty?

I need to write an essay and I am looking for some ideas for my introduction. I have writtenall my other paragraphs except my intro and conclusion and I am terrible at the intro.

My essay topics..
paragraph 1- Introduction
paragraph 2-Poverty (Background/History)
paragraph 3-Poverty (Why is it an issue today?)
paragraph 4- My solution on ending poverty
paragraph 5- Conclusion

The Intro only needs to be 4-5 sentences plz help

Poverty is the children down the street who go to bed hungry each night. Poverty is my neighbor who had her heat shut off this past winter. Poverty is preventable.

Povert in america has reached up to 30% of the nation. most of the wealth is funneled into monopolies and families who control the wealth and in world wide banks. Because of lower wages and inflation, and the oppression of these people the american dream has become held hostage. while the poverty level in america has a higher standard than other foreign countries. it still takes a higher level of standards to live in this country. a person who has to work minimum wage makes less today than he did 30 years ago even despite the increase in monetary statistics.
and most people who work at minimum wage jobs DO NOT increase their wages in the first year, sometimes they never get a wage increase of inflation. They just move from one job to another. Some people work to much and arent able to go to school Some people work to hard and pay more for gas and their income is cut in half. it is only the criminals that need to punished, not the poor.
