Alkaid is true of course . USA is using it indirectly to attack Sunni in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I believe Bush is using Africa as a means to sway the American public back into his corner. He is going to show that al-Qaeda has branched out of the confines of the Middle East and is now infesting other third world countries, like those in eastern Africa.
"We must stamp out terrorism in every part of the globe, because our national interests must be protected. I will do what is just and fair in protecting the American people. It may require Americans to make more sacrifices with the lives of our brave men and women in the military. But their heroic service will not be in vain. It may also require us, as Americans, to call upon the Congress to issue me some more blank checks so that I, as your president, can continue to meet these terrorists head-on."
Wait...how'd I lapse into Bush's Wednesday night prime-time national address?
Anyhow, yeah, it is merely a rouse to get support.
