Is here anyone applying to buy it, and rule there? You know you want to?

Summer, I agree it would be awesome. There are some disputes over whether it is really sovereign, and international laws are applicable, or whether there is jurisdiction held over it. Sounds like political wrangling and "lost" paperwork to me. But one would imagine that the jurisdiction held would provide for national security of Sealand. Still a marvelous thought to fantasize about though, wouldn't you say?

That's Me...I found my information regarding this Principality, as a braoder sales splash, on the Home-Page of Yahoo. One would guess then from this conflicting idea of informations of sources found to conclude the reality of validity between my statement or yours, regarding such soreignty, leaving our opposing opinions up for debate, leaves me to conclude that from where I derived such information leading to my opinion, and when (today), and lastly my opinion as to WHY it was posted at the source I obtained such information, this debate lessens the need for credibility in choice due to the three reasons of opinion in my belief in post regarding such. So for the sale, it is my opinion that its sovereignty begs for response to gain such information from the widely seen source, listed today, so as to increase interest in the subject of its sovereignty and sale.

There are some people showing some interest. No names released as yet. Sounds kind of cool to run your own country.

I never heard about that ... but after I saw your question gave it a good search and rea a lot of websites.... and atlast again had to zero on to wikipedia...coz that's more reliable than all other's. Hope this answers you. It says that UK and Germany confirm that it's in UK's territory...and not individual.....

This is what it says.

Look for it in the link I'm attaching:

Critics could assert that the Principality of Sealand does not exist [citation needed], and that legal rulings in the United States and Germany confirm this. They contend that "Sealand" is a legal fiction entirely contained within the internationally recognised maritime territory of the United Kingdom, and its supposed territory, HM Fort Roughs, has never ceased to be property of the UK Ministry of Defence.

Sealand's claim (i.e. Paddy Roy Bates and family's claim) is that it is an independent state, based on the following two propositions:

When Paddy Roy Bates and his associates occupied Roughs Tower/HM Fort Roughs in 1967 it was located in international waters, outside the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom and all other sovereign states. Sealand claims de jure legitimacy on this basis.
The interactions of the UK and German governments with Sealand constitute de facto recognition. Sealand claims de facto legitimacy on this basis.

Sealand was on TV News this evening (1/09/07). It is an abandoned oil platform surrounded by deep water. No utilities, no land, nothing but steel. It is worth Nothing!

If I were to buy a country, I think I would want something that didn't look so grimey...I would have to tear it down and rebuild I think. Expand. Invade. Conquer.
