How do I get new wiring through the firebreaks inside a house wall?

I want to put in an additional wire for the light fixture on a ceiling fan. The house is only wired with 2 wires to the jbox. I don't want to chip the plaster out of the existing wall.

I have the best luck with Green Lee's Extender bit and guide. @25 yrs as an Electrician I have found the poss of popping out of the finished wall at an incorrect spot is very easily done, and not preferred. Good luck.
