up to a couple of weeks. is he being followed by a doctor? his doctor would be able to give you a list of any warning signs to watch for, and when you should seek further help.

You need to bring him to a doctor ASAP. A boy that's 8 years old...
who knows how bad his concussion was. If he's still having headaches, there could be hemorrhaging, or a minor fraction within the skull. Or some sort of negative damage. Is he confused, has trouble concentrating, or seeing?

My advice is maybe get a cat scan to be sure just in case.

The headache should only last a few days, but if in doubt, call your doctor's office or your local Emergency Room and ask. They may want to inquire about any other symptoms he may be having. Don't mess around with a head injury, it can have life long consequences.

I wouldn't fool around. I have had concussion before and they can get pretty wicked. They may be able to give him something stronger at the Er to help and something to help knock out the nausea. They don't really have any treaments for a concussion other than watching you, giving you something for the pain. Poor kid. I hope he feels better soon. I had whiplash and a concussion at the same time and man it can make you feel so sick. The best thing to do is get him to that Er before it gets worse. better to be safe. better on Momma's nerves too. You can rest tonight knowing what is going on.
