I just started a new relationship that is now involving sex. The problem is, I don't know what is the best protection. I always heard about the pill but I take anti-seizure pills in a high milagram dose daily. I can't talk to my doctor because my aunt takes me to every appointment and she'd flip out if she know. Are condoms actually good? What about those patches? What is safe?

condoms are very effective - especially when used with additional lubricant. the guy is going to not like condoms as much as other (skin-on-skin) methods, but there's ways for the condom to feel much better than just putting it on and going. that girl was very intelligent to recommend spermicide - i'd get condoms with it and get a lubricant with it as well.

a lot of guys really don't like them, but this helps: here's a hint for the guy to enjoy it more: put a little bit of lubricant INSIDE the tip of the condom before he puts it on. it feels SO MUCH better for us - very similar. (he'll appreciate that little tidbit) also, put it on for him. YOU do it. (we like that)

be careful, be comfortable and be safe. don't slip and go without even once. ....

enjoy :)

Use condoms or any other barrier method. The patch and such have the same hormones in them as the pill, so the seizure meds would have an interaction with it. I would recoment condoms with spermacide. Condoms are 99.9% effecteve against pregancy and std's. And they are 100% safe unless you are allergic to latex.

have fun and good luck

Since you are having sex you must be RESPONSIBLE. If you are RESPONSIBLE you will do the RESPONSIBLE thing and talk to your doctor about it. If you neglect to do the RESPONSIBLE thing what will you do if you are having sex and begin to seize? What if the interaction of your medication and the sexual protection method you choose causes your seizures to get worse, like going from a petit mal to a grand mal? Either be RESPONSIBLE and go to your doctor, or be RESPONSIBLE and stop having sex. Or possibly have a seizure and do some brain damage and become retarded. YOUR CHOICE - RESPONSIBILITY or BRAIN DAMAGE?
