All shops in the UK are required to display a notice of ownership ie the Ltd co name and the address at which documents can be served - so in a McDonalds they will have a sign saying they are McDonalds PLC or The Food Co or whatever is the case for that branch. So in you case go and look and the sign will be there somewhere or should be
