Call the vet clinic and ask if you can come and interview the vet, they have a lot of routine stuff. I have to go but i'll anwer more thoroughly later, when I get back from lunch, I work at the vet clinic

I agree, it is a good idea to interview a vet, but you can also do online research. Veterinarians are trained to do specific surgeries, treat wounds, prescribe medications, take X-rays, do ultra-sounds, and much more. I had a bird, and when he broke his leg they did an x-ray, made him a little splint, and we even had to fit a tiny cone to him so he would stop chewing the splint off.

why don't you call a local vet's office and ask if you can interview them for a school project. I had to do that once and they were more than willing to help.
