Hiya,
there is no chance in my opinion to get a Wii soon in any retail store. As someone else mentioned somewhere all pre-orders will be fulfilled first. If any shop happens to get new stock imagine all the campers who'll sleep in front of the stores or the chaos and then within minutes all will be gone.
Another option - a very secure and reliable one which least know of actually - is to purchase a Nintendo Wii thru any trusted 3rd party seller directly at Amazon. They have good feedback, deliver on time, mostly are merchants themselves simply and Amazon operates as the platform, in fact the purchase is processed directly via Amazon as you would usually buy from them.

Serously? Buy mine. Console, wiimote w/nunchaku, NFS: Carbon, RedSteel, Zelda, WiiSports. I got bored with it... fast. Nintendo owns multiplayer, but the games thusfar aren't really that entertaining imo (sans Maden).
If not, go online. BestBuy.com or Amazon.com are my personal favorites. Good deals and, let's face it, they rock. I wouldn't reccoment E-bay because at this point you're pretty much getting systems people have bought and are now re-selling. Yeah, there are stores, but why go to some random auctionhouse store when, for PRETTY MUCH the same amount, you can get it form a place that has a reputation based on more than a bunch of comments unverrifiable personas have left.
(I hate ebay, hence my bias)

I suggest trying either or all: Bestbuy, Eb games. Gamestop, Walmart, Costco or a local Game store. Get the number for those stores that are near you and keep calling everyday to get info. And one day they may just have it =] Goood luck!
