I voted for Bush and I am an Evangelical Christian. Am I ignorant?
I know 4 languages and I have studied 1 classical language. I graduated with honors from college, I attend a professional school, I have worked in a foreign country.
I also believe in a command economy, all people are equal, regardless, babies and the elderly deserve to live, people getting paid based on need and not work, there is no such thing as an 'illegal' person, and that despite the fact I love my enemies and forgive them, I do not need to stand by as they kill my me or my family.
Although I disagree with Bush on a few things, I think overall he is a great president.

Everyone's answers are good but I just asked the wrong question. I was trying to ask "Am I ignorant because I voted for Bush"? in response to so many general questions about ignorant people voting for Bush.
So the question came off all wrong. I will have to reformulate it and ask again later.

2 + 2 = 5; None of those things bother me. Why should they? Read a little too much Orwell, have we?

To be honest, I think nothing of you. I'm assuming you're looking for somebody to insult you based on your political affiliation, but too bad for you, the people on the left aren't as childish as you think they are.
Have a nice day.

I would not say you are ignorant. I would say you are typical.
I do not base that on religion, I base that on your economic status, or presumed-to-be economic status.
I'm not quite sure about your idea on a command economy. Youthful idealism perhaps? The Soviet Union's was a disaster for it's people (I also lived spent time in a foreign country --Lived in Moldova) and China has quit spinning it's wheels and chose to get with the program, so to speak.
However if you are in favor of a command economy then most likely you have no problem with the patriot act. And that's were you and I will disagree.
I take a global view of the world, and I'm hopeful you understand what I mean.
As a president, he embarrasses me. He displays such a lack of understanding of the world around him, that I am astounded. Even thinking that a "top down" integration of democracy in Iraq is feasible when it has never worked before. His "Well, it's over" comment upon learning that Saddam was captured. His ideas of (literally) putting a fence around this country...
There is just far too much that he doesn't understand...
And yet there are only a few things you disagree with, and overall he's a great president.
I can only think that bush, as a republican, it's his economic policies that garner your admiration. And that's okay...
You aren't supposed to support the democrats.

No, you are not ignorant. I believe in a command economy, but I also believe that there is a limit to huge monopolies that get out of hand and limit our ability and our freedoms to choose. Yes, all people are created equal "in the eyes of God" but not in the eyes of man. Of course babies and the elderly deserve to live, and that includes babies and elderly of other countries. And I think we have to think about how "our way of life" affects them. In our economy today, people should get paid based on need. I am assuming that you are referring to "illegal immigrants" and I think people are concerned with terrorism issues as well as economic issues and is a very complicated issue. I have to agree with other answer that the more we think we know, probably the less we really do. I also try to forgive my enemies, but believe we should try all other options possible before resorting to overall violence that also kills other innocents as well as our own. I am too lengthy. Just my opinion.

Why don't you just bend over and grab your ankles! If you receive no punishment for this question it will be because the real liberals are out for brunch.
Not being a true liberal I cannot answer your question. I will say that this country was created with a balance of power; designed to allow it to operate in large part without great leadership. And with a few exceptions it has done that.
Some of this not so great leadership, present in all branches, is beginning to erode that balance. Liberal or conservative, we need to stand back and see what is really taking place. Self aggrandizement or ethical stance does not address nor, in some cases, even recognize the problems of this country.
Conservative or liberal agendas do not kept this or any nation afloat. The ship of state goes down with everyone on board.

Why is this question only for Liberals ? And why do you have to ask other people ( explicit Liberals ) if you are ignorant ? I don't care about your education, nor how many languages you speak.
Well, I don't know if you are ignorant, because I don't know you, but for sure is, you were acting ignorant while you voted for Bush. Why ? Your education and tolerant thinking, seemed to have no effect on your acting.

All people are ignorant. Typically, the more a person believes that they know (regardless of how much they actually know) the more ignorant they are.
The attitude of superiority is the height of ignorance. Never have you seen a person with a 75 IQ attempt to force their views on the world.
Those who are educated tend to be hostile towards those who couldn't afford their snotty education.
Men like Adolf Hitler who had an elitist attitude, embraced the popular theory of eugenics in order to be liked by intellectual types, or Stalin, who embraced Marxism in order to tell people how to live, or Mao Zedong who led a violent military and cultural revolution in order to advance their ideas... they have been responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths.
Meanwhile, a man who delivers pizza for a living has killed no one, and does not shove his ideas down anyone's throat, and doesn't have a holier than or better than thou attitude.

Ignorance goes to those who judge a person on political views and not the person. People are so narrowed minded when it comes to politics. I feel the same way you do and have many "liberal" friends on this site that once the evil of politics is put aside we realize that we are all humans and not republicans or democrats

I'm not a Christian, but I'm a Conservative and I agree with most of what you said, You are not ignorant. People just act the way they do when they realize someone doesn't think exactly the same as they do. This is America, you have the right to your own opinion. As long as you're happy, who cares what anyone else thinks.
