ok good question. find the apple of your cheeks, this is the fullest part when u smile. u should apply to this area and then u can sweep some color straight back from there to the ear on each side if you would like. put two fingers on your face right up next to your nose. don't put any blush any closer than this in either.

Usually you'd apply it to just the apples of your cheeks, blending upward and outward toward the tops of your ears. If you're going for a more dramatic look you may want to do it a bit differently. For natural results, use a big round blush brush rather than the small one that comes with the blush compact. Smile so you can see where the apples of your cheeks are, that should give you a good idea of where to start. Don't forget to tap your brush before applying....it's much easier to go back and add more if you need it than having to wash your face and start over.

The apples of your cheeks.
Suck in the sides of your cheeks. The area that protrudes the most should get a dusting of blush--normally your jawline. (Use a fat full brush, not the thin scrawny brush that normally accompanies the blush.)
Also, without reapplying blush to the brush, (use the residue that's left on the brush) gently/lightly run the brush down your nose and over your chin.

On the apples of your cheeks. DO NOT apply blush all the way up to the hair line...that is so 80s.

Blush was used originally to create the "apple on the cheeks" effect. Now it is used to highlight bone structure. It is most often used on cheekbones but it can also be used to give a definition to facial structure and highlights. Also, it can be used to bring about a glow especially for evening time.

Blush is meant to accent your cheekbones!
I always put a little bit on the tip of my nose and my chin, also.
But my blush is very subtle.
Don't put too much. Get something that blens in well with your skin tone.
'Natural' looks are very in. You don't want to look like you're from the 80s.

When you smile, apply to the apple of your cheeks. Or suck your cheeks in and apply (not to the sucked in part). If this doesn't help you can always go to department store cosmetics (ie. Dillards, Macy's). A beauty consultant will help you, most of the time this is free.

Blush is applied to the cheekbones. Right on the cheekbones itself.
