The original Shamu died a number of years ago. I tried to check online and could not find the actual date he passed away. However, his lineage is alive and well. He has offspring that is still living at the Orlando park, and I believe that they also have had babies. He may be gone, but his memory lives on. I was at the park a couple of years ago, and plan on visiting when I take the family to Disney over Easter break this year. If I find any more info out, I can let you know.

Shamu was actually a female, just to correct Natterjack.
But yeah, during the shows the trainers still publicly refer to ALL the whales as Shamu as they preform one by one.

Uh..there have purely been about 500 questions relating this icident on right here the perfect couple days! at the starting up you've honestly NO information about animals..this whale isn't "propose", it changed into doing what comes obviously to it! it isn't called a "killer" whale for not something. This surpassed off because of the irresponsibility of human beings, obviously this animal must have not been allowed to save appearing if it had harmed human beings contained in the previous. also, those who paintings as operating shoes of those wild animals are nicely attentive to the hazards in touch and it they were not prepared to settle for those hazards they could get out of the corporate. i do not imagine this animal must be destroyed in any respect, i imagine they ought to not let it carry out yet somewhat use him for his or her endangered species captive breeding software as his DNA is needed to it. i imagine it truly is what they plan to do. basically because an animal does not earnings human beings straight away does not make that animal ineffective. each and every animal contained in the international has an section contained in the ambience and also you're basically a self absorbed ego maniac in case you imagine any animal able to harming a human must be destroyed.
