I don't like the way our 'democracy' runs, when we put so much effort into helping the minority. I'm all for helping them of course, but you know, in my college we have to go round and round this long windy path down when a few steps as well as the wheelchair ramp would save a lot of bother. And also I don't like the way we are bing run by the EU, I can't imagine them wanting the best for britain when they have their own countries to think of.

Not quite but almost. But it was a hopeful sign when Ken Livingstone won the Mayoralty of London as an independent candidate ( his second term is looking like a disaster though). A second hopeful sign was the Doctor who won the Kiddeminster constituency as an Independent fighting to save the local hospital at a General election. The capture of a number of seats in the European Parliament by UKIP was another sign of democracy stirring as is - paradoxically - the growth of the BNP. (That last can be taken as a warning that democracy is a messy business, and never perfect).

It's long been dead. Democracy does not exist in the western world. But hopefully the new, up and coming countries will have better understanding of the word democracy.

The Eurocrats are made up of MEPs a number of which were elected from this country. Unfortunately nobody bothers about the elections of Euro MPs so we get the rubbish to represent us.

Democracy is dead in this country because we have a choice between two virtually identical gangs of right-wing gobshites to run the country. See also is democracy dead in America.

i'm bored to death of people whining approximately Brown being unelected. we don't vote for the PM throughout this us of a! Blair made it completely sparkling on the final election that he may be stepping down, and Brown may be the single changing him, so in many strategies he became elected - by technique of the people who voted Labour on the final election. I agree that is time he went, yet what i prefer to be attentive to is how a lot became Blair swindling from the tax payer until now he jumped deliver, i might luckily wager he became worse than Brown.
