Give us a few years...we are fickle. We forget the lesson's of the past, because we get "doe-eyed" by the limelight and glitter.

There is no doubt that it could and probably will happen again in the future. With people like Rove around who can spin and make "talking points" that makes idiots look intelligent. It is still rather hard to comprehend how Bush/Cheney won one election let alone two. There are way to many neo-cons and far left liberals around to make any government run effectively.

If you consider America as the couple of people controlling elections, then yes they'll get an administration that support them.

President are elected by Banks not people.

"A great industrial nation is controlled by it's system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world--no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men." --President Woodrow Wilson

There are many people who disagree with your assessment that it was a mistake.

Many people see Bush's predecessor as the mistake.

Do not delude yourself that your opinion is fact.
