SOMETIMES I click on LINKS in Windows my mouse doesnt respond... Sometimes it takes 2 clicks, sometimes 4. Sometimes when I attempt to click-drag the machine responds late and skips the drag midway, causing me to miss the drag and having to restart the click-drag all over again. I'm using a microsoft standard wireless optical mouse and keyboard on Windows XP.

Chances are that your mouse is faulty but it can be replaced with a new one to solve this problem. I have an optical mouse for a few months and it eventually goes faulty but I buy a new mouse and it sorts out the problem.

Check the batteries on the mouse, they may be low.

And also : I've tried standard wireless mouse/keyboard combos and I've had issues with all of them.

Sometimes , the signal gets lost , sometimes cursor freezes , sometimes clicking doesn't work etc.

That is why I bought myself the Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 wireless mouse , cost me about 60$ CND at the time JUST FOR THE MOUSE, but since then my cursor or clicks have never skipped a beat.

So for the wireless products in mouse/keyboards I suggest you go for the higher end models.
