i'm a fan of both, but i'll have to go with elton john on this one. i've loved his music my entire life. i have pictures from when i was still in diapers, and my sisters and i would put on the goodbye yellow brick road record then get up on our "stage" (aka, the fireplace) and sing along with it over and over again. goodbye yellow brick road is my alltime favorite, but at my wedding i will be walking down the aisle to an acoustic version of your song.

awesome how one leads into the other.
I saw both Elton John and Billy Joel in Concert twice, both put on great show, hard to chose. Elton John has been a favorite since the days he teamed up with Bernie Taupin.

I can't stand Elton John,personally or as a song writer. I will take Billy Joel on this one at least he has talent and a good personality too.

Sir Elton! I've been a huge fan since the 70's. What a talented pianist, composer, and singer! A lot of people dismiss him as just a piano pounding rock and roller, which he is really great at. But he's written so many beautiful songs. I've been wishing for a long time that he would make an entirely instrumental album, just him playing piano. It's impossible for me to pick just one song that's a favorite. As far as older songs, Skyline Pigeon is one of my many favorites. Of his newer songs, I really love Original Sin. Billy Joel is very talented, also. I've seen them together in concert, and it was great!

elton john is my favorite artist. i like the song the retreat but i would have to say daniel is a classic. i was at his the one concert in 1992.
i would say the best thing by billy joel would be my life.

Each is uniquely talented in their own right. I am a big fan of both Elton and Billy and to choose one single favorite song by either of them is extremely difficult. ROCK ON !!!

Billy Joel he has that all American middle class tough guy attitude working for him. My favorite song...man that's a tough one he has so many great ones....It would either be the Italian Song (Bottle of White, Bottle of Red or A Bottle of Rose instead, meet you anytime you want our Italian restaurant....Brenda and Eddie were the popular steads and the king and queen of the prom....don't remember the actual title of the song but I will never forget the lyrics) or New York State of Mind....
