I was also always told from the time I was in the second grade that I should write or that teachers would one day see my name in print. I had no idea how to go about it but just last year I came across freelance jobs boards such as Elance.com, Guru.com and freelanceworkexchange.com. They advertise for people who are wanting someone to write something for them. Although there is a small fee attached I thought why not give it a try and it really took off from there. I am now working full time as a freelance writer and would really recommend it for anyone that loves writing or is good at it. I would recommend signing up at Elance.com, they always have plenty of writing jobs advertised and you can quote on those that appeal to you. This seems to be the quickest and easiest way to start as a writer.

What do you enjoy writing about? Do you like writing fiction stories, do you like writing about your life, etc? What kind of topics would you enjoy writing about? Once you figure that out, it's very easy to get a plot assembled and to start writing. Do you have a specific subject that you are very passionate about? Because I believe that most of the good stories that people write come from a subject that they really enjoy. If you pick a subject that could get boring, then I don't think the story would end up too good.
The next step is working on some characters. They could be based on people you know, people you've read about or watched in films (that's where I usually get my characters from), and then write about a character in a similar situation, or something along those lines. Good luck, I'm sure you'll write great stories!

To get employed to teach writing on the faculty element, you'll favor both an MFA (draw close of high-quality arts) degree or a Ph.D. and also you may favor some ebook credit. in case you flow the Ph.D. direction, you'd be envisioned to put up scholarly articles about literature. in case you're taking the MFA direction, you'd be envisioned to put up short memories, novels, poems, inventive non-fiction -- in spite of type of writing you specialise in. initiate with information from majoring in English once you get to varsity. you'll likely meet some solid professors who can function mentors. with information out of your senior 12 months, you'll have a extraordinarily solid idea what type of graduate degree you want to pursue. Being a professor isn't a fashion to get wealthy, however it does provide adequate money for a smooth center-class existence, which includes occasional overseas shuttle -- as long as you do not insist on 4-celeb lodges, excellent airfare, and the most expensive wine at each and every eating position. precisely how a lot you earn (and the information of your wellbeing coverage and advantages kit) relies upon upon the position you stumble on a practise job.

are you a freshman with good writing skills? Many professors will be grateful for a well thought out essay compared to the rest of the junk they have to read. I have had plenty of conversations with professors who shake their heads and question the high school education their freshman have received.
If you are interested in writing, then take Many writing arts classes. Writing on a consistent basis will improve your craft. Write and write and when you don't feel like writing....Write More.

My only advice for you is to write, write, write. Send queries into magazines you would be interested in writing for, along with an idea for an article; enter writing contests; find a local writers' group in your town where you can get together with other writers and critique each others' work.
But, above all, you just have to KEEP WRITING so you can get better at it and be a more seasoned writer.

Read Stephen King's book "On Writing." It was very helpful to me. It's not pretencious and it's written on a "friendly' level.
