The only "history" you will get about the house is in the title report and the appraisal, and possibly an inspection of you had that done. The title report will show you when the house was sold, to whom, and for how much in a chronological order. The appraisal will give you a sales value and a cost value as well as 3+ comparable homes in your immediate area. The inspection will detail any deficiencies in the home. Other than those documents, there is not much more you can get.

Why would you get a history? That's not part of anything. You should have gotten mortgage papers, settlement statements, a title report, and a deed to sign, as well as insurance paperwork.

Most states require a seller to fill out a 'seller disclosure statement" which is generally 3-4 pages and has boxes they check that say stuff like, "has the roof ever leaked?" "have you ever had a pest infestation?" etc. That's probably what you meant by "history".

If this was done via a realtor, the seller's realtor probably had him fill it out when he agreed to list the property, and could proabably send you a copy of it.
