I found out the day before Fathers Day & was out of town. So I got to tell him on Father's Day with his gift. In the gift bag, I put in a "I Love My Daddy" bib under his present (we were trying, so he didn't get it) then I put the positive test at the bottom. He didn't know what it meant- he was like "What does this mean?" and I told him "It means I'm pregnant!" He was shocked, and started crying. (happy tears)

He was in the living room watching the Canadian Grand Prix. I didn't tell him I was doing the test as I was only really doing it to check I wasn't pregnant.
I was pretty shocked to find out I was pregnant as I'd been told it would be nigh on impossible for me to concieve and we'd only stopped using contraception a few weeks before. So I stood there in the bedroom and called out 'hon, could you come here a minute?' and he wandered in - a bit miffed to miss the 23rd lap or whatever it was - and I just showed him the stick.
Then we both stood there for a bit staring at it and then he said 'well, I guess you'll have to quit smoking and drinking then won't you?' and then we started talking and lay on the bed and were just starting to get used to the idea when I heard a key in the door and it was his older kids coming home from thier mum's and that was that.
We couldn't talk anymore that day because we hadn't told the kids we were trying and there was no way to get privacy with the kids home...

The first time, he was actually waiting in the other room while I took the home pregnancy test, so I just blurted it out. We had been trying for so long and it was such a roller coaster.
The second time (do not do this!) was just seven months after our first daughter was born. My husband was at work as a security guard and had a loaded gun on him. I had taken a pregnancy test at home and he had called home and I told him, without even thinking how he might react. I was sobbing and I blurted it out. Then a few minutes later (after we had calmed down and I started to accept the shock), I was like, "Oh, my God. You have a loaded gun. I wasn't thinking. Are you okay with this? Are you sure you're okay?"
Quite a shocker-oo. I hope you find something cute to do.
With our parents, though, we wrapped up cloth diapers and pins in a little box with a note that said "Start practicing!" It was really cute.

I found out I was pregnant in early Dec after 2 years of trying. I waited until Christmas and wrapped a pregnancy book adressing it to both of us from "Santa". The look on his face is something I will remember forever.
Edit after seeing Rob's response below me: My second with my husband was sort of like that. The first that I told him about on Christmas was about 7 months old and already starting to walk. He'd been bragging to a co-worker about it and the guy was like "Well you know what that means, right? Baby's getting out of the way for the next one." When he came home and told me about it I said "Well, I think he might be right...". That look was priceless too :) They're 2 1/2 and 1 now and great kids.

I have never been pregnant yet. But if I have a husband specially if I would be happily married, of course I would happily tall him the news. Maybe I'll cook his favorite food, serve him sweetly at the table, whisper sweetly to him, thanking him for giving you a baby -having a wonderful dad like him.

I stopped BC 1 month before our wedding and told him I didn't want to fool around for that month because I didn't want to risk it and I thought it would make things "interesting" for the honeymoon.
1 week after the honeymoon, I can't explain it, I just "knew" I was pregnant and asked my husband to pick me up a pregnancy test on his way home from work. He got me a 2 pack of Clear Blue Digital tests and said "It won't be positive so I got you 2 because I know you'll be paranoid and want to check again in a week". I didn't even wait until the next morning, took it right then (10pm) and it immediately came out positive!
I walked out of the bathroom and handed him the positive test and he said "I won't believe it until the Dr. says so".
So I scheduled an appointment the next morning for the following day. When the Dr.s urine test came out positive he said "I'm sorry I just can't believe it until the blood test says so".
So we went home and anxiously waited. I missed the call because I was doing dishes anxiously trying to pass the time so they left a message (I had given permission at the office for them to do so). I listened to the message then handed the phone to my husband for him to hear for himself. It said "Congratulations. It apperas from the hormone levels in your blood that you are 1 to 2 weeks pregnant. Please call back to schedule and appointment for an ultrasound" and he said "Well, call back and schedule your ultrasound. I'll believe it when I see an ultrasound." (frustrating man!).
So almost 3 weeks later at the ultrasound as they zoomed in on the tiny fluttering heartbeat he finally broke down and cried along with me :-)! It was a long wait for a reaction but a priceless one that I love to embarrass him by telling.

it was just a month before our wedding so we decided to go ahead and stop trying to prevent a baby, cause we though it could take a few months to get pregnant. but on my hubby's birthday, i was only 1 day late but i had a feeling, i went ahead and took 2 tests, they were positive, so when my hubby got home from work i had a birthday gift bag sitting on the table and said he had one more present to open, i put the 2 positive pregnancy test in it. we were both so excited!!!!
now 22 weeks pregnant with a baby boy!!!
