I think it is very wise that you are seeking advice now...I'm assuming you are young, maybe preteens? My advice to you would be to just start writing about the experiences you are having in your life right now. When I was that age I remember going through a lot with school and friends and boys and such...you can easily develop songs from your own personal experiences. Also I know in my area there is a college that provides a songwriting workshop over the summer open to anyone who wants to pay to take it...that would be a great idea for you and your bandmates. My whole family is musical and we all write our own music and my father to this day always advises us to perfect are own skills. He encouraged us to take classes, practice and just learn as much as you possible can about songwriting and if you truly love it than it will come easy to you. Good Luck!!

Not Miley, for definite she lies an excessive amount of. But yeah she used to be on E! and this girl with black hair and manufacturer write songs together with her. She's annoyinggggggg. People say Billy Ray however that is performing on Hannah Montana..

Study the thesaurus! Lyrics are ever so important! A band is only as good as it's lead singer! As for the actual music(instrumentals)play around until you hear something you like and then add it to another some thing else you like-and so on and so on until you get a whole song. Study the format of music. Make a verse, bridge and chorus. Put your life experiences into the lyrics. Things you like, love, things that move you, hurt you, make you really feel.
Good Luck

If you want to be super good you shouldn't write songs like other people especially someone as horrid as Hannah Montana. There are enough copycat artists as it is. Create your own style if you want any kind of credibility.

I THINK I get what your saying.... but to write good music, it has to come from YOU, not your idols.... write a song that you enjoy playing, and the lyrics really get to your soul.... basically, write it from the heart, not because it sounds like miley's.... try to be original
