I am an American, single mom with a 10 yr old daughter. We hope to visit friends later this year who have just recently located to Dubai. My daughter and I love to swim. Are women allowed access to beaches in Dubai and/or UAE at anytime? Can we or should we wear one piece swim suits? Is it acceptable for women to use hotel swimming pools? If so, are one piece swim suits acceptable?

Hi,
of course you and your daughter can go swimming. You also can wear a bikini. Nobody cares, as long as you are not nacked.
Dubai has some nice beaches. I don't know when you will come, but in the summertime it's getting really hot at the beach and the gulf is no refreshment no more. Then I rather go to the cooled pools at the hotels. Check out, if you can get a 2 or 3 week special regarding the entrance fees.
Dubai is one of the most liberal Emirates and you don't have to fear anything. It just don't feel to comfortable, when at a public beach there are much more men than women. They stare at you and might take pics with their mobiles. At a hotel beach/pool you are safe, have umbrellas, beds, showers, changing rooms,provided towels and a perfect service

Please do not listen to people who never have been here and thinking bad about Dubai just because it's an Arab country. You might get more respect over here then back home.

Yes.. you can go to beaches, hotel owned beaches or swimming pools or public beaches.. wherever you want to go you can, at any time.. ppl prefer day time.. i've seen ppl swimming until dark.. but i've never been there after sunset...
you don't have to worry.. no body even bother to look around who is there in a single piece.. cuz lots of European, Russian, American, Asian ladies/girls wear two pieces at the beach.
The Law-Enforcers are there both in uniforms and undercover, the Ladies are most honoured and respected here and sometime seems to be have more rights then men..
you will witness by yourself ... once you get here...
that's why Dubai is DUBAI....

yes you can wear a one piece swim suit and you can swim in the hotel swimming pool or at the beaches accessed thru the hotel

( but not Sharjah or Fujairah - there only allowed on the hotel`s beach)

It dosent remember on the sea coast...Im 23 and such as you i think of if she is gonnabe in a bikini whats the version. I dont positioned on shorts too short yet on the sea coast or pool i will b/c its extra overlaying then a bikini backside

And when you report it you go to jail.
Believe me i know these people extremely well.
Be careful and always have a chaprone.
Remember you are not in the West and as a woman you have very limited rights.
For instance when you get raped, if you report it you will be arrested and imprisoned for committing adultery.
