Someone you are talking to has a problem where one of their eyes is crossed and the other isn't? Do you try to avoid eye contact because you're not sure which eye you should be looking at?

I'm not making fun.....I'm totally serious.......my new supervisor has this problem, and I'm paranoid about how to behave around him.

Pick an eye. That's what I used to do with a co worker. Try not to look as though you are going back and forth to each eye. I'm not kidding. Crossed or not he deserves eye contact!

I have a friend with a crossed eye, when we first met I had the same problem. If the right eye is normal you are out of the woods, look at him in the right eye it's a body language thing. Crossed eye or not, people prefer being look at their right eye.

I wasn't so lucky so I started switching from her normal eye and right between both eyes. We both feel comfortable that way.

- Good Luck!

I had this worker whose one eye went a totally different direction. It was so difficult. I would try to stare straight in her face like I normally would anyone else, but I always caught myself glancing where the other eye went off too. I know what you are going through. Good Luck!

It is real important that you do everything that you can to duplicate the cockeyediness of your supervisor. This will
put them at ease because both of your eyes are making "eye contact" in their own special way.

I've met a couple people like this and what I do is just look into their good eye although it helps to glance once in a while at the other eye

LOL I worked with someone like that once! I just tried to look at the eye that was looking at me but it's hard sometimes. Then I would just try to focus on their face as a whole.

I still make eye contact with the good eye. I am afraid if I do not they would think I was picking on them or something.

I actually have known about three people that had this condition, normally I will look at the space right in between both eyes.
