The girl I replaced at my work had downloaded a bunch of crap to the office computer. Upon leaving my boss decided to clean it all off. In the process he accidently deleted the volume. Now I have no idea how he did it. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it? I've tried reinstalling drivers, I've tried many many things to no avail. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

He asked me to put it back on. He told me it was an accident. He wants it to be on there. Sometimes you need the volume when you are doing things for the office.

Thanks!

My computer has administrator rights. I can delete install whatever. I just have to get permission from him. He's a very honest man. He wouldn't lie to me. I know that!

go to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management
look in the right panel, locate and identify the disk and the disk partition , most probably it might be displayed as an unpartitioned space, right click on that part to see the menu to create a new volume, and partition it

there is no possiblity of deleting your volume form your computer. it can only be deleted virtually and may appear after a while. I think your boss has used the administrator power to hide the volume so that the lady can't download anything in it... i think your boss is too smart telling you that he accidently delete the volume.

Don't believe that it was an accident. If he knew how to delete all kinds of files, he knew a lot more. All kinds of things can be done on a computer. Many of us just don't know how!

Maybe he didn't do it accidentally. Maybe there's no reason to "hear" anything on your computer as it is to be used for work purposes. I would check with him first before going through a lot of gyrations to re-install sound.
