I began wearing more makeup when I was 16 (Junior year in HS) because my skin wasn't like a kids anymore (sigh...). Of course, everyone develops at a different rate. Before that I would just wear consealer to hide zits, I really had no need for blush/mascara the whole works and even when I did start wearing more makeup, I would do foundation (to even skin tone), concealer (when zits were present), blush (b/c foundation makes everything too even sometimes) and SOMETIMES mascara but not all the time b/c its bad for your eyelashes (they'll come out if you're always rubbing them to remove mascara). For my lips I would just use lip gloss mostly. I didn't even bother with lipstick, eyeliner or eye shadow. When you're young, you don't need all that stuff! Revel in your youthful natural beauty as long as you can! It's easier!

I had this makeup for little kids in pink packaging when i was like five, might have been called tinker bell makeup. My fascination with makeup continued from that point on. By the time I was nine I had several lip sticks and glosses from Origins. By twelve, I used everything except for foundation/powder because at that point I didn't need it. If I wore makeup to school the girls seemed kind of pissed off about it like they didn't want me wearing it so most days I stuck to a subtle lip color at school. When I went out for dinner with my parents though I felt free to wear as much makeup as I wanted. I am so glad my mom let me experiment with makeup at a young age because I am that much better at applying it now.

Depends on the girl, her age, and how much makeup you're talking about.
Lipstick and mascara could be worn as soon as age 13 but the rest shouldn't come into play until around age 21. You REALLY don't NEED makeup until then. You have the rest of your life to wear makeup why start so soon? Enjoy your youth, it goes by so fast!
Good luck! :)

Middle school or sometimes if they're really young let them wear a little of that Bonne Bell stuff. Its really lite and it will make them feel like they are wearing a lot. It is important not to make it a big deal or they'll just sneak and do it and look like little whores when you get the school photos back. Start out with clear lip gloss they'll love it!

I have an 11 year old and she is allowed to wear the sheerest of lip glosses, but I stress hygiene also. Girls should learn to take proper care of their skin before being allowed to use any make up. If you're still reminding them to brush their teeth and wash their face they aren't mature enough for it. Also young girls need to learn just to enhance their beauty and not pile it on.
So I guess girls can start with gloss as young as 10 and
everything depends on how mature they are.

it hink that the best age to start wearing make-up is when ur 16 or 17 but not to much either cause that would make you look old if you dont know how to use it.
