He died in a Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York hotel in 1836, at age 80. He was the one that shot and killed Hamilton in the duel as people forever get it confused.. Presumable died of old age. Note, in a bit of irony, he was served divorce papers by his wife on his death bed by Alexander Hamilton's oldest son. I just know his son enjoyed it.
