I have been using proactive solution for years. I am now 24 weeks pregnant and still use the products, I break out here and there but I think that is because of the increase in hormones. I ended up ordering an on the spot acne-medicine from them and that clears me up really quickly. When I found out I was pregnant I took my whole face kit to my doctor, he reviewed the ingredients and determined they were all safe for use during pregnancy. I would tell anyone with acne to use this product, it seriously works!! My sister had some acne scars from her teenage years and after 6 months of using the product they had disappeared. Best Wishes to you, I know how it feels to already be gaining weight, have your hair lie flat on your head and then have acne to boot. Good Luck!

I used an alpha hydroxy cream during my pregnancy (with my doctor's approval) and a mild face cleanser (Johnson & Johnson Purpose.) This regime helped some and in the 5th month the acne started to recede--not sure if this was do to hormones balancing out or the aHa's.

Just make sure that whatever you use is not harmful to the developing fetus. Absolutely no accutane, retin-a, high dose vitamin A - as these can cause severe birth defects if used in pregnancy. Be safe and check out products with your doctor.

Good luck!

I have had the same problem with both pregnancy's. There is nothing you can do unfortunately that will clear it up. After you 5th month you should start to see improvement. By 6 months my skin was owsome, it just started to clear up on it's own. I currently use Cell Biotic that I get from my health food store and I use coloidale silver topically on my face, don't injest it's not safe during pregnancy

try washing your face with very hot water, no soap, just hot water. it opens up your pores really well. then just put a single coating of Noxzema ,and let it sit for at least five minutes. do this every night before you go to sleep and every morning when you wake up. I'm sure your acne will heal up. if not ask your doctor about proactive it really works!

( hot water first opens up pores so that once you wash the Noxzema off of your face, it helps get all of the access dirt that you never thought was there.)

Jane Iredale's magic mitt. Just google or yahoo Jane Iredale and that will send you to online retail outlets. The product buffs your skin and it got rid of my pregnancy acne. It costs around $15.

It's best to just use hot water with this. Clensers made me break out more!

Proactive solutions is really good at least for me, I've obviously never been pregnant but I work in a real greasy enviourment so I have to keep my face clear. If that doesn't work I know they make over the counter acne medication in a pill form, you will obviously have to talk to your doctor about that.

go to a spa and get a facial - they will recommend what to use on your skin, and if you don't want to spend alot, ask for cheap recommendations. also, i started taking fish oil, flax oil and hemp seed oil supplements because the essential fatty acids are great for the skin. so are avocados. or eat fish if you like it (i don't). my skin started breaking out a lot at the beginning of the 2nd trimester, so i've had to be really careful too. best of luck!

I started to use a normal daily face wash by neutrogena. just keep using it and your face will come accustom to it.
