First, there is a book entitled "What color is my parachute" that is very helpful in helping you decide on career choices. If there is a college or university near you then you can peruse any books or documents that they have on careers, prerequisites, pay, outlook, and answer many questions that you may have. Some universities have culinary arts programs, botany and landscaping programs, welding and metal work programs, and if you are inclined toward nursing then check the state (where you live)rules on being an RN. The RN is usually paid much higher than LPN (licensed practical nurse) and is a much better program. When you limit yourself to two years then you are limiting yourself to what is out there. Good luck in your quest.

What schools are available in your area? Look in the want ads and see who is paying what and what is in demand. Then make sure you are up for 2 years of school. As we get older, our brains are not as sharp. Nursing would be great but school is very difficult.

Go to a 2 year school and take architecture classes and become a Cad Tech. Architects and engineers need them, and while you won't get rich, you will make pretty decent money.

Nursing. If you have a good local school, it can be done in two years. Pay isn't bad, but a lot of places don't like to hire rookies.
