I did a study that proves low education is correlated with support for Bush-Cheney. I would be happy to forward the study to anyone who wants to see it. I'm at brian.t.murphy@sbcglobal.net

Excel files cannot be pasted into the Yahoo! Answers thing, so if you want the full monty you will have to send me an e-mail.

The data all come from Federal sources.

Anyway -- why do you think it is that Republicans are generally less educated -- as can be proven through statistical analysis?

Anyone who has any rudimentary understanding of statistics can see this in the data I analyzed.

Sadie, the study is credible I assure you. Data on election comes from the Federal Election Board. Data on education by State comes from the Cesus Bureau. Simple regression shows education explains 40% of the variance in Bush-Cheney support. More education is associated positively with less Bush-Cheney support. Send me an e-mail and I will send you the results. I assure you, there is no escaping it. I know you would LIKE for the result to lack crediblity, but I'm afraid it's the opposite, dear.

Joe, the data shows lower education is an influence on voting Republican, all things being equal. Sorry. Data is data. Perhaps you can send me an e-mail and I will send you the results. If you have any background in statistics, there is nowhere to hide on this thing.

David, I have always thought it indicative of a low level of thought to strongly criticize a study you haven't even read. Maybe that's just me. Or, maybe you are one of those X-Men people that can plug your brain into Captain Picard's lettuce-strainer and see anything in the world anywhere.

Less educated people vote Republican because they are more often one or two issue voters that are easily led by the nose on emotional issues.

That is, if you promise to do what they want on some emotionally charged issue, like gun control or abortion, then they will put all their energies into fighting for you on those points and look past every unethical and questionable thing you do in every other area of running the country.

The Republican party knows this, so they deliberately target the less educated, easily lead, easily polarized, single issue voters because it's the easiest way to lock in votes. It's clever and effective. Completely unethical and anti-democratic, but it works quite well.

Because people who are the babyboomers are the leading statistical voters and the majority of the US at present.
They are people who lived awhile back and have had to quit school to obtain a livelyhood to support new children and they also did not have the community outreach/educational oppty. that the generation I grew up with had.
Alot of the executives and upper level mgmnt that is over the age of 50 did NOT have a formal education...they had to go back to college later in life and change their lives and careers to make themselves successful.
"Voting" was a by-word to everyone and so as to not be left out the young ones (18-30) voted for Bush not even understanding the concequenses of doing so; just as long as they could say "I voted" and be apart of the american public who excersized their right to vote.

You did a study? So you drew your own conclusions. Let me guess, you are a sniveling liberal who is looking for anyway to discredit Republicans right? The truth is that Republicans are equally educated, if not more so then Democrats. Democrats are usually people who want the government to give them everything, like free health care, welfare. Many Republicans are rich because they worked for their money and didn't have someone just hand it to them and the Democrats envy that.

The results of your study were surprising to me. Elected Republicans appear to be equally formally education as Dems. Republican voters I wouldn't know about en masse...although acquaintances and friends of mine who are registered Republicans are all highly educated.

Perhaps those who are ultra conservative/right winged also equate with rigidity and lack of exposure to other ways of thinking and cultures?

Put your info on the Internet dah. There are amny kinds of intellegence. Do you put one in front of the other? If liberals are more educated why do they have more abortions? Even many of the stupidist animals have learned to protect its young. A high IQ is not as great as love, compassion, caring, All the things human beings are. As for me I will take on my side the most loving families over any intellegence.

In my lifetime, I've noticed that more education does not necessarily mean intelligence or wisdom. Let's face it, most liberals would be hard pressed to accurately describe or understand the Constitution, and the founding principles of this country.

They are blithely ignorant of human nature, have no comprehension of economics or military history. Frankly, I'm at somewhat of a loss to understand exactly what education they got. Most of the non-Republicans on this site are a study in willful ignorance.

the answer to your question of "why are republicans less educated" is because they are less educated. however, that's not entirely true. your study sounds painfully low-level and devoid of thought. in spite of that, you are correct- many sheep follow the loud and clear leader who will say things like "we gotta go after them evil-doers." things are put in black and white for stupid people and thats why bush does so well with stupid people. but to say that republicans are stupid... that's not entirely fair. bush appeals to idiots... but there are many dumb democrats as well.

I hardly think your "study" is credible, esp. when the majority of the democratic vote comes from minorities, who are statistically less-educated.

the priority very not often stated is what type of training ? you in simple terms responded this your self. the final public of the colleges are ruled with the aid of liberal professors. this is not lots simply by fact all and sundry is knowledgeable that they vote a undeniable way yet a particular variety of training. training is noted ordinarily many times. as an occasion.. a guy or woman knowledgeable at a extremely liberal college which includes Berkly is going to have lots distinctive perspectives then somebody knowledgeable at Dallas theological seminary. you spot my element ?
