I had a d&c after a miscarriage. They just dialate your cervix and clean out your uterus. I had general anesthesia and felt fine afterward. I hope you feel better :)

a dnc is where they abort the baby and the sac. this is considered a mandatory thing to do cause it's a quick fix, the other option is to wait it out until your body starts to regect the sac and start to get rid of it naturally, this is a long proccess of about 6 to 7 weeks and there will be alot of blood. so most doctors think that a dnc is the best option for you to get it all fixed up and move on with your life. good luck.

no its not a mandatory thing, i have had two miscarriages and i have never had to have one, mine have both gone through the cycle on their own, its might because he wants it to try and do it on its own, but if it doesnt than they will do a DNC. they usually do a pap or at least a check right after you stop bleeding, they will check to make sure everything did what it was suppose to and make sure you dont have any infections from the miscarriage.
i'm so sorry about your loss, i know its hard.

more effective than probably it become afterbirth, some portion of the placenta become left in and become bumped off by way of the D&C. SO it become only a freshen up. a pointy obsetratican will personally eliminate any membrane or plecenta left interior after delivery. believe me, it truly is more effective painful than the delivery itself and becuase the uterus is above the point of an epidural, a hand in there pulling away lodged tissue herts like no the following day. although, it ability no protracted bleeding afterwards and no D&C or an infection to attend to later. 5 days is amazingly no longer a good suggestion, you're accurate and your better 0.5 could feel embarrassment about himself. I doubt you've been pregnant lower back. that could be one for the record books and it appears like drastically too a lot bleeding for that.

Its not mandatory..they usually do it if some is left behind and doesn't clear on its own. Its a good idea. It clears out all the old stuff in your uterus. I had one...my Dr told me that it actually makes your uterus a good host, pardon the expression but it gives you a fresh uterus for a pregnancy.

No, in some cases it is not mandatory, actually it strips your uterus and can make it harder to carry your next baby. I had 4 miscarriages and I only had a d&c 1 time. You only need a d&c if your body does not expel all of the fetus. Usually your body will expel everything.. check out this web site
