No, this can not be a hard and fast statement here because it is not always the case--- there are any number of situations and circumstances that exist where people are a mark or two to one side or the other of "the excepted" without being over the edge into antisocial or pathological behavior !! The call "society's ways" is just another way of saying "the norm" and history is full of individuals that were outside of this label who contributed significant and major additions TO society as a whole by the methods and manner in which they chose to live and work !!!

The "society" is the system set up to benefit the masses over the individual....so going against that is, of course, dangerous to the masses.
At one time you could have had millions of individual weirdos in any society and they basically hurt themselves more than the society itself. Now, with mass communication and totally open forums like the internet, those few freaks in one society can meet up with the freaks from another and so on and eventually you have a sub-society that's a declared enemy to the primary. In *that* case, you end up with Waco, and OKC, and highschools in Colorado etc etc etc. Were *they* dangerous?

Following the herd (often to the slaughter house) is dangerous!! You gotta have the free thinkers! Society's ways dosn't fit for everybody. That's a good thing too. This is how change is made.

Not always. There are many who went against the ways of society and did it peacefully.
Changes were made for the better in most cases.

Its a pretty simple decision. Follow societies rules or end up in jail and very likely homeless.
If you don't believe that then try walking into a bank with no clothes on and demand money, or walk naked into any other store and demand stuff. See how long you remain free.
Or did you mean only those rules that don't offend anyone?
