Anything can be art, as long as it provokes somekind of response in the viewer.

Art is everything! I am sure everyone could make a great pieces of art just you normally have to be a famous artist for something simple to be taken seriously eg. the messed up bed! That is definatly not art!

Depends on the art, if you are talking about the art of painting then most painting is not art but painting, using pigments and materials to produce painting on a media, people look at a painting and like or dislike that painting. those who like call it art those who don't thinks its not. most today are rubbish and is lead by consumerism and bollocks. Any art form is not to say yes you have done well therefore it is art or a self appraisal of the work that I have done. Art is Thierry Henry on a football field.

I'm glad you asked me that. Art is whatever the "chattering classes" are willing to PAY for. The artist has to go to dinner parties etc and charm people into buying his or her "Art".

If you s hit all over your bed, that's not art. But if somebody pays you 15000 pounds for it, THEN it is art.

An Artist is someone who can persuade others to pay him for his creations. A GOOD artist can change the way we percieve things , though. But unless money changes hands, it's not art. I challenge anyone to prove differently.

I think ART means different things to different people.
To some it is merely an act of expression, something they thought of in their imagination and made possible.
For some it is simply doing something they love and doing it well.
Others say ART has to evoke emotion (of any kind) to be real ART...so it is not what any one person says it is.
It is just one very special thing that it seems primates enjoy.

:o) My mum likes to paint but says she is crap at it and nothing looks like it should and so she isn't arty.
I always say, if you enjoy doing it...what is the problem...if it came from her head and she put her heart into it, it is then ART.

Art is an expression of the soul. That inspires people for who they are.

There is no answer to that.
In fact your question itself is considered to be art, I've seen it on an exposition a few years ago in belgium.

So anyone who formulates an answer to this question is art too ;)
