One benefit to being in a lesbian relationship is there are two options for who is hav ing the baby. I have known some butch (not male/men or with gender ID issues) that carry the child, and some femmes that carry the child. It is all a personal choice - and sometimes this choice involves health issues as well. Just because one of the women are going to carry a child does not make them any less of who they are - and what a great childhood that kid will have with two nurturing mothers.

It's a stereotype that butches never carry, it's also a stereotype that butches want to be "men."
Some women simply don't ever see themselves being pregnant, that doesn't mean they don't enjoy being female, it just means they don't want to be pregnant.
Honestly, who can blame them? The bloating, the always feeling fat, the not being able to tie your own shoe laces let alone see your feet for months at a time, not being able to bend at the waiste, the food cravings, the morning sickness, the mood swings and having to pee all the time.
And that's just being pregnant...it's not even touching on labor and delivery!
I wanted to have my son very much, I not only endured all of the above, but I was also toxemic as well. I had scarlette fever as a child and you never get rid of the virus. So, while I was pregnant it came back and I had fevers of 105 more than a few times. I was hospitalized the last week of my pregnancy on bed rest.
Some women aren't emotionally equipt to handle that kind of strain.
I was told to never get pregnany again or it might kill me. So, when my partner and I got together I told her that if she wanted more children than my one son, that she would have to carry it...and I'm certainly not what someone would call butch.
We decided to not have anymore.

Its always cute for couples to be like that.
I am the butch in my relationship, and I want to have a kid, so its not always the case.
Some women just believe that they need to be the provider, they have to be the one to provide the way.
It could also be just that, they way they were brought up, that they find that they want better for their child than what they had. So they think that maybe by taking that role, they can provide a better childhood for their child, than a father could.
My girlfriends daughter used to call me her daddy. I didn't mind it. I guess it just depends on the butch.
This year I am planning to have a baby, because my girlfreind can't, so..it depends.

Some women just dont see themselves being pregnant. My girlfriend is the same way. She's a tomboy & she would NEVER even consider actually having a baby. But she LOVES kids and wants me to have 5! lol. Sumtimes i dont find it fair, seeing that we r both women and both capable of being pregnant. But she's not comfortable with that at all. Its a personal preference.

Yes, my thoughts are that what's right for them is something completely personal and they need to think it through thoroughly. If she's the more masculine one in the relationship, it kind of makes sense that she'd take on the more masculine role in child bearing--meaning her partner would be the one to carry the child.

"She clearly doesn't like being a woman, or "acting" like one. A woman was made to bear and have children. This is obviously a "role"/function she hates, thus her "butchness". She clearly has gender confusion/dysfunction. "
So if a straight woman doesn't want kids, does that mean she doesn't like being a woman?
