Laziness and no class. Let's face it, most real trees aren't exactly cheap. There are sites set up to take real trees to turn them into mulch, so if the cheap jerk cannot afford the gas to drive to a site, he shouldn't be buying a real tree. But then, think what he/she would do if it were an artificial tree that lost a branch!!!

The same reason why people thoughtlessly throw trash on the ground.... Some people are too lazy and inconsiderate to dispose them in the proper place.
