Now this would be a great matchup. It's obvious usc would have done the same thing to osu had they made it to the national championship. So the true no. 1 and no. 2 did not get a chance to play each other. too bad there was no playoff

in a playoff system boise would get crushed. there is no way they will get through 2 games unbeaten. I'm sorry boise fan, i know u had a great game against oklahoma, but in a playoff system u would have no chance. i mean put boise in any bcs conference and they would not be undefeated. I'll give u, they are the best non bcs team (well BYU would give them a game). u just can't compare an undefeated non bcs shcool to the sec or the pac 10 or any bcs conference for that matter. That wouldn't be fair to sec teams who have 1 or 2 losses and don't get a shot a national title.

racael y, i'm sorry to break this to u but last night florida had 150+ yards rushing and during the course of the season had over 2,000 yards rushing by like 5 or 6 players. so when u say florida has no running game u are flat out not watching the game. As for osu and mich being 1 and 2. osu gave up 39 points to the michigan offense who against a pathetic big 10 only managed to be ranked 23 in the nation in offense (in other words osu defense sucks). Michigan who supposedly was the best defense got destroyed in the rose bowl by usc and barely had any offensive output when it mattered. To me that means if usc rolled over michigans defense and osu got romped by florida's offense then that would mean usc would run over osu's defense not making them the number 1 team.

Just think of the excitement a playoff system would bring to college football. Talk about a tough run. Let's say USC vs LSU and they are both running on 8 cylinders. What a game that would be but then the winner would have to face a Florida team running on 8 cylinders. Talk about the last man standing wins. That would be some tough kick-a** football.
However, I am not certain I will see it in my lifetime after reading the article about Big 10 Commissioner Delany. What an a**hole!

I hear where you're coming from. But USC choked away their chance when they lost to UCLA. No two loss teams deserve a shot the way the BCS and college football is set up today. I'd rather see a Boise State or a BYU get a shot at them.

We only know OSU wasn't the best team last night when it mattered. There could be a different outcome if played a different night. Jim Tressel looked like John Cooper last night, he didn't have a clue how to make adjustments. Ginn is a quitter, Pittman is weak AND NO there is no Heisman jinx. Teams load up for the favored team it happened all year to OSU. Last night they got outplayed and out-coached. Play tonight and it could go the other way. But we can't do that so Kudos to the Gators for breaking it off in the Buckeyes as.s.

you cannot say osu is not the best team people still think michigan is the 2nd best team and osu is #1 but b/c osu had and of game does not mean they are not the best team what happend when florida lost to aurburn i mean everyone has an off game (UF lost the game in the 2nd half) personally i still think osu is #1 and michigan is #2 and Florida is #3 but what is done is done but i would like to see USC play UF i think USC would win b/c UF has a very small running game that was why OSU could not adjust ot the offence because they never knew what was coming

i'm with you each of ways. i can't imagine of the different communities that you probably did not call. And in case you nevertheless carry out the way you're so some distance Chase Daniel is unquestionably getting a visit lower back to lengthy island and he might want to even win the Heisman. i'm a Georgia fan, so for sure i'm rooting for them, yet I easily were saying considering I heard we were pre-season #a million that it meant not something till we proved it on the field. i'm easily lower than no circumstances dissatisfied about the drops contained in the polls. I merely say we safeguard organization on the field and we make it to the nationwide championship. we are going to see, inspite of the indisputable fact that it would want to be great. strong success to you, too. i love Chase Daniel. He truthfully has a destiny.

Florida deserves to be number one, USC lost to UCLA they deserve nothing

I still say these bowl games prove we need a playoff though so im with you on that

Especially because theres only one undefeated team and they are ranked 5th or whatever, being undefeated should get you a better reward than that

Yes, now we know OSU isn't the best team in the nation. However, we DO know who is: Florida. They won. It's the end of the line. They shouldn't have to do anything else to prove themselves.

Unless you are Boise State, shut your trap! USC lost to TWO unranked teams, so it is not all that obvious.

I'd watch! But I'd also like to see just how far Boise State can go.
