No I don't think that you will you still have plenty of time for the baby to turn. Some babies don't turn until closer to time to be born. Don't worry the baby will turn. I think that it is to early for the baby to turn right now

No, and any doctor who told you so needs to be fired.

Babies can turn up to and including after when labour starts. Though the odds go down after about 38 weeks. Safe ways to encourage a baby to turn include:
-Putting a light or music low on the belly (though some babies need it high on the belly as they avoid them rather than go towards them)
-breech tilts
-Chiropractic care (Webster technique is a special skill check out http://www.icpa4kids.org )
-Accupuncture/Pressure or Moxibustion
-Sitting quiety and asking the baby to turn.

Chiropractic care and Moxibustion (accupressure involving burning herbs) have been clinically proven to be effective and are safe. Unlike a version preformed by a doctor.

Also, and this is very important. Breech is not an indication for a c-section. Vaginal breech births DO have more complications when compared to normal vaginal births. However breech babies born via c-section have the same rate of complications as birth babies born vaginally*. Breech babies are more apt to have problems as there is sometimes a reason babies do not turn head down (some babies are just stubborn). Vaginal breech birth does increase the risk of emergency c-section.

*Assuming that the attendant to a vaginal breech birth is skilled enough to know to keep their hands in their pockets unless a few VERY RARE situations occur.

Weeks of Pregnancy % of Breech

28 25%

30 17%

32 11%

34 5%

36 5%

37 - 40 3.7%

you still have a long way to go to see if the baby is going to turn or not. Even then when the time is right if the baby doesnt turn the doctor will try and turn the baby. Give it until you are about 34 weeks

Not necesarrily, you've got some time to go. If this is your first, do not let a Dr talk you into a c-section or scare you into one. It is a major surgery. If at 40 weeks the baby is still breech, the Dr should try to turn it, obviously, if he/she can't be moved, then it is the best interest of both you & baby to have a c-section

There's no way of knowing for sure, but I was told babies can turn in the womb even as late as a week before delivering. There are also stretches and things your doctor can have you do to encourage the baby to turn. Good luck!

No not neccassarily. It is way to eary to determine that. The baby has lots of time to move and there are things you can do to help. You can help by sitting up straight if you can (I know it;s hard when you are pregnant), but try not to sit leaning back too much. Try jsut getting on your hands and knees for about 10 mins a day, and doing pelvic tilts. Just tilt your pelvic in (like a pelvic thrust, but gently) This will help the baby get into better positioning. Helped me.

27 weeks is EARLY. Your baby still has around 3 months to turn! At this early gestation, your little one is still doing flip flops in there. Please don't worry about baby's position this early. And if your baby is still breech in later pregnancy, there are exercises and things you can do to encourage him to turn. My third was breech until about 38 weeks. They can turn right up until labor starts!

At this point, the baby has plenty of time to get into the right position.
Your midwife/whoever is looking after you medically throughout your pregnancy will be in a better position to tell you what will happen with your pregnancy and birth.
