not a great deal. and with the internet taking over, many travel agents are closing their branches. give it 5 years and all holidays will be booked online due to the savings people can make

Very little. My mother in law does this on the side and she gets $10 for every flight she books. Of course, she is a reseller for a bigger travel agent, so some of the independents probably do OK.

You don't need to pay them. They normally earn commissions from suppliers, hotels, tour operators, etc. Airlines don't pay commissions anymore so if you are booking a flight it might be worth checking with the airline direct and your travel agent to make sure you get the best price.

Sod all. They make all their £s on commission on flogging useless travel insurance policies that you could buy for a hell of a lot cheaper online
