Jeffrey Harris has released version 2.0 of his iPod music transfer software, SharePod. If you are seeking to copy mp3/aac/mp4 files from iPod to PC, forget about paying for software like "iPod Access", "CopyPod" or "Anapod Explorer" - Sharepod does it for free, & whats more, it does it well.

It's actually somewhat difficult to do. The easiest way to do this is just burn MP3 CD's of the music that you have and swap those. This won;t work for music you got from itunes though (those are protected formats). To do it with Ipods you need to do a few things. First....enable your Ipod as an axternal drive. You need to set it to manual as well. You have to either download or purchase a program that enables you to synch in reverse. You can find one via a google search (try googleing something like "Ipod to computer transfer"). I got a program from a friend who bought mone, but I've heard there are freeware ones available. I can;t comment as to their effectiveness. You'll both need to do this on both of your Ipods and both of your computers. It's worth doing also so that you can effectively use your Ipod as a back up to your music files. Personally I'd avoid these problems by getting music from sources that don't protect the files and burning data CD's of what I wanted to share.

I've heard about Sharepod as well though I haven't tried it yet.
Another idea is to share music folders with your friends over the internet. Free GigaTribe software is great for sharing specific folders on your harddrive with friends, and it's easy and safe: http://www.gigatribe.com
Your friends could download an entire music or video (or whatever!) folder to his own computer and could then do the transfer to iPod after that...

Go into your settings and tell iTunes to update manually. Hook up your friends iPod to your computer. Just drag and drop songs singularly (you can't do a mass drop, I tried) into your friend's iPod folder.

Well, if you have iTunes on your computer, then put your friends iPod USB cable in to the USB port on your computer. Then just do what you would normally do with YOUR iPod. Good Luck xox
