I know how to use an i-pod, but I am thinking of getting one and I want to know how downloading the songs works. Do you have to download them online? Can you download them from cds onto the computer and then on your ipod? Does this cost extra money?

Good choice.
You can put your songs from itunes. You will get the CD when you buy your ipod. Download that CD and you can get all the good and latest songs that are there on itunes. You can even use different Cd's to get your music. Before you get the ipod you need a computer (windows 2000, windows XP or the apple PC)
The cost would be about 100$ US dollars. Have fun!!! C ya ^!^

If you are getting an iPod, spring for the 30GB, the nano is nice, but only about $50 less than the 30GB and the nano will only hold 1000 songs and the 30 will hold 7500 songs.
With the iPod you will get iTunes, put this on your computer (you need windows 2000 or newer!). You can put songs onto iTunes from CD's or download from the internet.
One good source of free music is the city library, you can check out cd's for a couple weeks.
Good Luck & Have Fun With It!

I have an iPod and they are really quite easy to use. The iTunes software is free. If you put iTunes up you will see an icon called music store. This is where you can download songs directly from Apple, and this cost about 75p (GB) and about $1 (USA). If you put tunes on your iPod from your CDs then it's free. There are also lots of other downloading sites, but some of them don't have downloading contracts and you can be fined up to £2000 (GB)! So be careful when surfing these sites. Good luck I hope it works. xox

you can download the songs on line, from either apples i-tunes store, or many other places. this costs about $1 a song.
you can also take music from CDs you own and put them on your i-pod. this is free.

there are many other mp3 players out there too, look around. many are much less expensive than an i-pod and as good or even better.

a operating laptop or computer is to particular and cumbersome to take everywhere and thats the position the ipod is presented in. Its small and also you may stick it on your pocket. Thats why its extra appropriate to a operating laptop or computer even as it is composed of taking area in track. Its merely extra accessible.
