Hell no...if anything it has stunted out intellect and spirituality. People spend an average of 22 hours a week online...probably wasting their time looking at porn or on silly websites that you can answer stranger's questions on. What is spiritual or intellectual about that?
We should not be so proud of our technological advances. As we close ourselves off from the world and hide behind the anonymity of avatars and user names in the hollow of cyber space we lose touch with real human contact and the sense of wonder we once had. Automation is not a good thing, it makes us lazy and fat.

Not imperative real. When main emotional soreness hits, i.e. lack of household, and so on. folks attempt to uncover methods to peace themselves. That's the target. Spiritual progress isn't the target but it surely would be a aspect end result to a couple folks. True theists will uncover peace by means of filing to their God and accepting that God ought to have motives for such soreness, and so on. Thus, emotional soreness leads to religious progress certainly. But, real atheists won't uncover peace the equal means considering God does now not exist of their geographical regions. They uncover peace by means of reasoning with good judgment that emotional soreness is simply aspect of existence and that ordinarily instances there's no clarification nor rationale for such soreness. Then there are folks within the core of the spectrum. In the system of discovering peace, they will grow to be extra religious or much less religious or keep the equal. It relies on whether or not they're extra willing to religion or reasoning. I have noticeable all circumstances. And, there are folks that simply are not able to uncover peace. They would possibly increase mental disorders, i.e. melancholy, psychosis, suicidal, and so on. Sadly, I have noticeable those circumstances, too.

I'm not sure I understand what you're looking for, but I'll take a shot. With the growth of technology I see a growth in secular humanism. What was once relegated to the realm of divine is now where humans tread. That means that man thinks so highly of themselves they now make God in their own image. God is defined in human terms, not a simple anthropomorphism or metaphor, but man thinks God is actually like him literally. More accurately God only exists in man's mind and all is allowed if society puts its stamp of approval on it. This moral relativism engulfs our every thought and is exuded from every pore of our being; this is seen in our moral stance on current issues, if it feels good, heck, with society and God. These two factors moral relativism and secular humanism is the new religion and the new spirituality. Man is his own God and his own moral compass. Like Shelly's Frankenstein which symbolized the Industrial Revaluation of years ago today's technology ushers in a new monster of man's pride and arrogance. Technology and science are good things but when it's man's attempt to reach God, his new tower of Babel, I just fret about God casting it to the ground and reminding us that we're merely depraved animals.

I think it has a negative effect on our sense of place in the world. the farther I get away from the physical earth (outdoors, nature, natural things) the less I feel alive and like myself. I'm not speaking of religion either, but their is nothing spiritual about technology.

Humans only grow in meaningful ways when they are subjected to trials and hardship. When a technology makes something easier that portion of life degenerates and humans become weaker.
hope this helps
