If there is no blood visible your ok. As long as the contractions are five minutes apart it is okay to stay at home as long as YOU can. If you go to the hospital they are only going to keep you in bed. If your contractions are about 2-3 minutes apart and you can not possibly stand them then go to your nearest hospital. Make sure though that you are not bleeding or leaking sometimes you might feel like you urinated on yourself but it could be your water that has broken.

If the contractions are regular and painful call your ob/midwife. You could be in labor they broke my water with 2 of my babies when I was dilated to 5-6, so your water does not always break right away when you go into labor. I have heard some babies have even been born in a fully intact sac, it doesn't break at all. Then the doctor takes baby out of the sac. I don't know about that though it is just something I have heard.

If its your first baby your waters probably wnt break until labour is well established - but your waters dont have to brake in any case. Time your contractions and once they are about 5 mins apart or the pain is too bad go to the hospital - try getting a warm bath to see if that eases any pain - if in doubt give your labour ward a ring and they'll talk you thru whats next. Good Luck!!!!

Only 12% of women actaully have their water break as the first sign of labor!!! Mine had to be broken by the OB afetr a few hours of contractions at the hospital. if you're having contractions start walking around or take a warm bath. It will help regulate the contractions. Start timing them and if they are really painful or fast, call your doctor now!!! Congrats, you're about to have a baby! :)

Only about eight percent of women at term rupture membranes before labor. About 80 to 90 percent begin labor within 24 hours on their own. Meaning very few water break and considering you are full term, it's not unusal. Allow yourself to contract more by walking more, doing things that bring along contractions to help speed along the coming of labor. Nothing strenious though...talk with your doctor to see what exactly you should do. But trust me when I say that water breaking is something that happens in movies when you're out during lunch....LMFAO

Your waters might not break until the very last minute! Phone the midwife/hospital delivery unit and tell them contractions have started and they will probably want you to go in to be assessed. Good luck!

Time them. If they are 5 minutes apart go to the hospital. How painful are they? I would call the doctor and see what they say. Most women's water doesn't break on its own. The doctors break it for you. They did with all 3 of mine. Good luck

Call the hospital and ask.....many women don't break their waters on their own and the doctor has to do it...don't worry that does not hurt at all...feels a little odd......but then the contractions get MEAN!!!!!
Good Luck MOMMY!
