I don't think so either. That's why I roll my eyes at the overuse of antibacterial soaps, even when you are camping and away from most bacterial sources.

sometimes it is because an animal may take a dump and that causes germs, but then again things like worms eat the germs and make dirt healthy and nearly germless

Of course dirt is 'germy'. All material is 'germy 'unless it has just been sterilized and even then it will become germy as soon as it is exposed to air. I agree with you tho on antibacterial soaps and obsessive 'germ phobia'. I think half our kids asthma and 'puny- ness' now days come from lack of expose to good old dirt and germs to build up a tolerance. Hand washing with soap is still the best way to stop the spread of disease and germs after that....chill.

For health reasons and to prevent disease, it might be more prudent to assume that dirt will have germs. However, I would caution you on your apparent "overuse" of antibacterial soaps because overuse of these types of products is probably one of the main reasons for the surge in drug resistance.

No, of course not. There is lots of dirt on the Moon and it doesn't have germs in it.
