I stopped taking the pill 3 months ago to start a family. My period is 4 days late. I have all common symptoms except abdominal aches and pains. I've never been this late before. I have taken a pregnancy test and it was negative. What do you think is wrong?

you could be pregnant or you could be stressed.....wait a few more days and if no period then take another test

Is your period normally late since coming off the pill? If not and you are still not on then take another test but use your first morning urine as this has the most concertrated levels of HGC in it and will most likely give you a positive result if you are infact pregnant. Im currently 8 weeks and bascially it took the tests I used a week to show a positive, the first two I took came back negative so I carried on as normal and assumed I wasnt but a few days later I decided to do a first morning test just to check, and lets just say there was no mistaking that line to confirm it. Its quite shocking the amount of women who need to be about a week late before they get a positive result. Goodluck, hope you get the result you are looking for!!!

Coming off the pill can cause irregular periods in some women. However, if you have had regular periods the last few months then you may well be pregnant. I had a similar experience. The first test I did was negative. A few days later it was positive.

It sounds like your period is just a few days late. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate - provided you've done it right. Coming off the pill can do some odd things to your body - but I think you are probably not pregant yet - but don't forget to keep trying...

Taking and when you stop taking the pill can change the dates of your periods this is nothing to worry about wait a few more days and then take the test again!

I don't think anything is wrong. Wait a few days more or go and buy a different Pregnancy Test, some are more sensitive than others, and are able to detect the HGC hormone earlier.

hey you could be pregnant u just may not have enuff of the hormones in ur body to show up straight away wheni fell pregnant a few of mine were negative before i got a positive. but it could be the pill mine were early then late then early again when i came off the pill just keep an eye on it good luck x

Go to the doctors and ask for a blood test or take another pregnancy test maybe next week because they don;t always show straight away.

hi id go down the docs / clinic get myself checked they will most likley do another test ,the test you did could be false but its worth getting seen to just in case other than this it could be your body getting used to not having the contraceptive.

MAYBE YOUR PERIOD IS JUST RUNNING LATE.......WAIT ABOUT A WEEK AND TAKE A TEST.....AND IF YOUR PERIOD IS STILL A NO SHOW....GO TO THE DOC'S!GOOD LUCK!
