That's the danger - if fewer than 50% of Americans are bearing the tax burden, people will vote in all kinds of tax increases.
It's also ironic how so many of the same people who decry others inflicting their morals on them have no trouble saying wealth is evil!
If you want money, go out and make it. Keep your hands off mine. I pay enough already, and give time and money to charities too.
PS A flat tax, with just about everyone paying the same rate, seems the way to go.

in case you imagine in this way, then evaluate the challenge: take out the 40 seven%. Will US live to tell the tale? Who will do the artwork of those 40 seven%? If the the relax fifty 3% downgrades, they received't do the artwork of the 40 seven% merely besides, and usa will be in a lot worse challenge. The economic device of usa will shrink by a lot, a lot more suitable than 70%. those rich will be a lot worse off, and their wealth will both stagnate or perhaps decline, quite than keep on increasing at cutting-edge cost. is nearly a pyramid, without the bottom, there received't also be a suitable. without the suitable, the bottom can nevertheless be there, because the bottom is the starting up position. imagine a pyramid with a chopped-off suitable, the bottom will nevertheless exist, yet not vice-versa. inspite of the indisputable fact that, the priority is, there is too a lot company WELFARE in words of subsidies and tax cuts for the wealthy corporations: skill, organic factors, water, extreme-tech, etc. Why do obscenely wealthy corporations desire WELFARE on the cost of taxpayers. The amenities for protection stress, infrastructure, education, etc favor to be paid and if corporations are literally not figuring out to purchase them, it would want to be taxpayers' money which potential accepted individuals' money.

Those are false comparisons. "Income" tax is tax on wages, not actual total income.
Remember, FICA taxes are phased out well before you get to $100K in wages, so that's nearly 8% of a tax break they get as the move up. Add in the huge discounts in capital gains tax rates, which is where the wealthiest get the vast majority of their income, and you get the richest of the rich paying a smaller portion.
Then figure in the fact that a progressive tax structure will tax the first money earned less because most of that gets eaten up by the basics - rent/mortgage, food, clothing, utilities, etc. If you look at how much "disposable" or discretionary income people have, and how much of that they get to keep, the rich get off very easily.
One thing that gets left out of the parsed and misleading statistics you cite (not misleading because they are inaccurate, but because they are a partial picture) -
Looking at TOTAL income, not just wages, what percentage of income does the top 10% make? Top 50%? What percentage of total wealth do they own?
Then compare to taxes paid, and it's not like they are being victimized.
Besides, the 10%, with the amount of money they pour into "think tanks," disproportionately control the political discourse, and with their paid lobbiest disproportionately influence political policy.
So, please, let's give a break to the completely false "the rich are so victimized" crap, shall we?

She's right; they pay less than their share. The wealthy can hire high powered tax attorneys & accountants that help them figure out how & where to hide their money & to find out all the tax loopholes that are designed for the wealthy. The poor & middle income get screwed as usual.

If you want your information to be taken seriously, I suggest that you cite a source other than Rush Limbaugh's web site.
The question is what percentage does the average tax payer pay, not the total amount for a particular group.

She is a limousine liberal. She is the wealthiest woman in the house and one of the wealthiest in Congress. If she feels she doesn't pay enough taxes why does she take advantage of every tax loophole offered.
Pelosi is a lying hypocrite. she is looking for the redistribution of wealth (ours not hers) and is not looking for a fair tax system.
