Press 'Del' or 'Delete' on your keyboard (Default access to setup otherwise look carefully on what character you need to press on your keyboard to access it) when it goes to POST to bring up the bios and usualy it will be in the advanced BIOs settings if not look for the options "1st boot device, 2nd boot device, 3rd boot device" and make sure CD Rom is your first boot device since the Harddrive is formatted and its blank and put harddrive as the second boot device incase you forget (I did that once and I thought it was still buggered lol) BIOs is very dangerous as well so do not alter anything else apart from the boot devices otherwise your computer is Dead for good!
Normally you insert your Operating system disk in during BIOs then it checks your CD and reconises you have a disk inserted and goes stright to the OS installation. Follow the step-by-step and when it asks you to format a partition just select the one you already formatted and select quick format so that the hard disk will make that partition the default drive.
It is necessary if you have enough time then you can do that because it takes upto an hour to complete this installation process and get the computer work with your operating system.
The first process will ask you to follow a liscence agreement, Chose the default partition and it will format it and install Operating system files onto it and restarts itself
Second Process is where you enter your validation code and enter some simple settings (Language, Regional settings, Keyboard language, Date and Time and Internet/LAN connection) After this process completes it adds hardware and software that the operating system can reconise and installs additional settings and restarts itself again and normally the 2nd part of this process installs all operating system files and restarts once its done and there you have finished.
It is also a good idea to install your drivers for your hardware (if you have a disk for it) then after that install your Antivirus, Firewall and anti-spyware if you have an internet connection so that you are protected from Viruses and spyware then you can install some of your own stuff like Games, Office packages, Your security CDs (e.g. Anti-Virus, anti-spyware, Firewall etc.)Software designed for your hardware (e.g. scanner, printer etc.)

When it starts to boot, there will be a little message saying something like "To enter BIOS, press del or F3" or some other button. Once in the BIOS, be sure the PC can boot from the CD drive. Now put your Windows installatioin disk in the drive and reboot. It should find it and start installation.
If this does not work, it is possible that you had a hard drive failure rather than a virus as the source of your problems.

If the computer system came with a disk thats the one the computer wants. It should say something like recovery cd for you make and model of the computer. If you dont have one I would contact the makers of the pc. You can also check the bios by hitting F1 or F12 when the computer restarts. In the bios you can change the boot device to CD.

Depending on your laptop manufacturer, you have to go into your BIOS and tell your computer to look at your CD-Rom as the first boot device. For example, on my computer when it first starts up there is a screen that comes on saying "Dell" or whatever. Sometimes it says "Press ESC to enter Setup"...sometimes it says nothing at all. If it doesn't tell you what to hit, try hitting some of the 'F' buttons - for example, F2. Once in setup, meander your way through the menu until you get somewhere that says 1st Boot Device, 2nd Boot Device, etc. Under 1st Boot Device - change the value to Cd-Rom instead of "Floppy A" or "Hard Disk". Then change your 2nd Boot Device to "Hard Disk". Now put your Windows CD in your drive, save your changes and exit (usually done by hitting F10), and when it restarts it should take you right into Windows Setup via the CD.

when you put in the windows cd, does the light on the cd-rom come on at all? does it make any kind of noise like it is trying to read it? what kind of windows cd is it? if you copied it, it won't have the right properties to start automatically upon boot. one thing you can try is when you computer first starts up is to hit f8 or f12 - it depends on your pc. this will take you to the bios setup. there you can change the boot order so the cd-rom is first. if this still doesn't work, there is something wrong with your cd-rom or the cd you have. see if you know of anyone who would let you borrow their windows cd. or if your cd is an authentic copy, you should be able to call microsoft and they will help you out. good luck!

Well you should've taken the time to download the system files to a disk. It usually takes 4-6 to get all the information. Now you have a blank box sitting in your face. No system disks means no system.
Depending on the age of your computer and the operating system you can contact the manufacturer and pay for a a new set of disks.
Good Luck

You need to insert you Windows CD and then turn off the computer and turn it back on. It should then boot into the Windows Installation which will guide you through installing Windows.
If it does not you will need to access your BIOS and set your CD drive to the 1st boot drive. To access your BIOS press whatever key your computer asks you to on your startup screen so that you can enter the setup.
Good luck and please post here if you have any further questions or send me an email and I will try to help you as much as possible.
